Dancers is a traditional family business first established in Lye in 1880 by John Dancer, a boot maker and provider of 'Fine Understandings. In 1884 John Dancer opened his new shop in Halesowen and over the following 20 years, expanded with branches throughout the area including Bromsgrove and Tenbury Wells, but later consolidating back in Halesowen, the family’s home town.

During the 1980’s Dancers started the service of Men’s Suit Hire and happens to be one fo the first stores within the UK to sort this trade.

Over the last four decades Dancers Suit Hire department has continued to develop as it got more popular and is one of the many reasons why Dancers is such a unique store within Halesowen.

Welcome, I'm Helen, owner of Daisy B Nell.

I'd like to share the history of Daisy B Nell with you and how we came to be an Award winning UK Bridal shop. 

My Journey to opening Daisy B Nell began in 1995 when I graduated from Hereford College with an HND in Fashion & Textiles. After winning a £500 travel bursary award from Hereford College, I took off to travel around India visiting clothes factories & glass works in places such as Kashmir & Mumbai, to name just two.

After returning from India, I worked for 3 years in a bridal shop in Tewkesbury, where I discovered my love for Bridal and my dream to open my own Bridal shop began.

In February 2000 I opened Daisy B Nell in our first premises within King Charles Court, Evesham Worcester. In 2008 the opportunity came up for us to expand and move to our current beautiful premises in a 1482 loft, still within King Charles Court.

You'd think that moving across a courtyard would be easy, but never under estimate how much work it is to move the stock of a bridal shop, even a few yards... After a hectic few days we were ready to launch our new shop and haven't looked back since.

Since first opening, Daisy B Nell has gone from strength to strength and won our first National Award in 2002 as Best Newcomer in the Bridal Buyer Awards in association with Cosmopolitan Bride.

Founded in 1987 by Martin Jones and David Owen, Martin David relocated to The Parade Shopping Centre two years later and our Shrewsbury menswear shop has been here ever since! Martin sold the business in 2010 but continues to work on the shop floor part-time providing his expertise and remains a huge part of the Martin David family.

In the last four years Martin David has grown considerably, beginning with an expansion of the shop floor from one unit then to two and finally into 3, more than doubling the floor-space. Then, in 2012 we opened our own unit fully dedicated to men's wedding and formal hire wear. 2014 marked the beginning of our journey into online selling and we couldn't be more excited to provide the level of service our customers have come to expect from us in store, online!
