About Lynda

Lynda is a certified Independent Wedding Celebrant, trained in Marriage and Family Celebrancy with The Fellowship of Professional Celebrants. Lynda is also a Registrar for her local area, with twelve years experience. She has a good understanding of marriage legalities and can answer many of your questions.

 

With over 15 years experience as a Wedding Celebrant, Lynda offers a personal and professional service. She has travelled extensively, throughout the UK and abroad, performing Ceremonies for her clients.

 

Lynda often works in the Midlands, mid-Wales and Shropshire, but will travel to wherever she is needed for work.

My favourite ceremony is a wedding that has a fun and relaxed atmosphere combined with romance, and so it should be with a wedding. It should capture the essence of your culture and traditions and be a true reflection of your beliefs.

 

The ceremony I will create with you, will consist of your chosen personal touches. You can choose readings, poems, music, and symbolic gestures that highlight your relationship and your personalities.

 

Your day will be all about you, your unique story and the lifelong commitment you are making in front of your family and friends. With a Celebrant-led wedding, you can have a traditional or themed wedding, with dressing up and other special rituals like candle lighting, hand-fasting, or a sand ceremony.

 

Working together throughout the whole process, we can create a memorable celebration, having fun in the planning of it, and craft a tailor-made event that reflects you both.

Iwill arrive at your venue one hour before the ceremony and will liaise with the venue staff and other suppliers to ensure that everything is in place to run smoothly.

I will welcome your guests upon their arrival, and ensure that all those involved in the ceremony are well-informed of their roles, locations, and the proceedings.

If you are getting ready at the venue, I will be there to help calm your nerves if you have any.

As the ceremony starts, I will conduct it calmly, professionally, with warmth, energy and enthusiasm to ensure you and your guests can enjoy every minute of it. Be reassured I will guide you through each step so you don’t have to remember all of it.

You can be confident that I will be in control of the whole process, and create a ceremony that will be an unforgettable experience for everyone present.

Any venue of your choice I can accommodate and make the service both special and unique to you both. 

 

It does not need to be licensed as you can do the legal signing beforehand. you could choose a beach, a woodland or your own garden.

 

I only conduct one ceremony a day so you can pick the time you want.

Your wedding should be every bit as unique as you are, which is why I will take the time to get to know you as a couple and get a real feel for what you want on your special day.

The beauty of a Humanist Ceremony is that there are no restrictions, no set format and definitely no prescribed wording. We will work together to create something that is exactly right for you.

A Humanist ceremony is non-religious but can be spiritual and heartfelt and you do not need to be a Humanist yourselves- most of my families are not and may embrace many faiths or none.

What they have in common is a desire to have a service that is special, personal, and meaningful for them.

The ceremony can take place exactly where you would like (inside or out) and at a time of your choosing (in daylight or moonlight). The only limits are our imaginations – so let’s think outside the box together and create something wonderful!

I will help you to plan all aspects of the ceremony including the writing of your vows, helping to choose music and poetry that you can really relate to (I know not everyone shares my love of Leonard Cohen!).

We can include the traditional exchange of rings or the tokens of your choice alongside other meaningful rituals such as handfasting or ring warming- the choice is yours. I only book one ceremony a day so that I can focus entirely on you and ensure that you have your dream wedding.

Whilst I am celebrant based in Lichfield, Staffordshire my weddings so far have take me further afield – Leicestershire, Shropshire, Worcestershire and Cheshire – this means I am happy to travel.  I am also delighted to be the resident celebrant at a small and beautiful boutique venue in Lichfield – Deanslade Farm, Lichfield.

We always have a run through online, I record your script so that the nerves can run through the practice ensuring you are word and moment perfect on the day.  Remember, practice makes you present on the day.
